Welcome to HerpNet, the mailing list of the Pan European
Herpetological Network (PEHN). PEHN is being developed in accordance with the
decisions taken during the Extraordinary Business Meeting of the Societas Europaea
Herpetologica (SEH) on Aug. 28, 1998, in Chambery, France.
The goals of PEHN are:
1. to facilitate the flow of information between the involved persons and
societies (information on book releases, herpetological events, news from the different
involved societies, relevant publications, exchange of experience, etc.).
2. to create a forum for questions and comments.
3. the establishment of an information pool for unpublished and published data.
PEHN is open to anyone interested in European herpetology. Groups that we
will actively seek out are:
1. SEH members.
2. herpetologists and conservationists who are not members of SEH (amateurs and
professionals) in different government agencies, private consulting firms and in
universities and other research institutions, including undergraduate and masters
students.
3. members of linguistic herpetological societies (both terrarium oriented and field
herpetology oriented)
4. terrarium keepers who are not members of any society.
While the list server is open to terrarium enthusiasts, we would like to
make it clear that this is neither a "chat" site nor a forum for commercial
messages. |
